SOS99NASH_SURF_LEVEL2_ReadME.txt me file //************************************************** March 25, 2002 This document is intended to assist users of the NARSTO DES-formatted file containing data from the Level 2 sites during the Nashvile 1999 Intensive Study. Background: Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) operated two enhanced (Level 2) surface-level monitoring stations during the 1999 Nashville/Middle Tennessee Field Study. One of the level 2 stations is located on the top of the James K. Polk Building in downtown Nashville. The other level 2 station is located about 40 miles west of Nashville near Cumberland Furnace in Dickson County. Gas measurements (5-minute averaged concentrations) include sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O3), nitrogen oxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and total oxides of nitrogen (NOY). The meteorological measurement package includes wind speed (WS), wind direction (WD), temperature (T), relative humidity (RH), and solar radiation (RAD). Data obtained at these two level 2 stations comprise this data set. Files: The NARSTO DES formatted data file is named SOS99NASH_SURF_LEVEL2_GAS_MET_DATA_POLK_DICKSON_V1.csv The DES data file also contains a metadata file that describes the measurement parameters for instrument range, measurement accuracy, and measurement minimum detection limit (MDL). Additional information about measurement procedures can be found in the companion file named SOS99NASH_SURF_LEVEL2_STATION_DESCRIPTION_V1.rtf which is a rich text format. The above 2 files and this "SOS99NASH_SURF_LEVEL2_ReadMe.txt" file accounts for a total of 3 files.
