Description

The MAIA Chemical Transport Model (CTM) is an ancillary data set generated from the Weather Research and Forecasting coupled with Chemistry (WRF-Chem) chemical transport model as an input. It ingests the WRF-Chem daily to generate initial conditions for chemistry, and soil properties from the previous day’s run for a target area. By doing this, the continuity of different atmospheric species (e.g., dust, sulfate, and various trace gases) is ensured. The CTM output is used by MAIA processing as inputs to the Geostatistical Regression Model product generation. Normalized Difference Vegetation Indices (NDVI). The output collections are generated during nominal operations at the NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC).
