Description
The MODIS-MISR Fusion Cloud Product (MMFCP), part of NASA's MEaSUREs project "A New 22-Year Earth System Data Record of Cloud-Top Heights and High-Cloud Emissivities from Terra MODIS-MISR Fusion to Investigate the Climatology and Variability of Heights and Optical Properties of Two-Layered Cloud Systems" (22-MEASURE22-0061) , provides granule-level retrievals of two-layered cloud-top properties and high-cloud optical properties for both multi-layered and single-layered cloud systems. By fusing MISR and MODIS data, MMFCP leverages the strengths of both sensors to overcome individual limitations, significantly reducing MODIS biases in thin high-cloud retrievals above thick low clouds by over 75%. This enhancement minimizes errors in modeled top-of-atmosphere longwave cloud radiative effects by 5–45 Wm⁻², contributing to improved cloud property assessments.
